Indoor Air
Most people spend the majority of their lives indoors, it is important to keep your home clean as the indoor air quality is 2-5 times worse than it is outdoors. The Air Quality Program provides free home assessments for all Tribal members to ensure they
have healthy indoor air.
Ambient Air Monitoring
The Air Quality Program has long-term assessment of local pollution levels in the outdoor air. It allows us to provide air pollution data to the public as well as observe air quality trends.
Purple Air Sensors
We have several air sensors within our area that measure fine particles in our air, also known as Particulate Matter (PM2.5). It is important to keep an eye on the AirNow Fire and Smoke Map to see your air quality may be affected by certain events, and learn what actions you may take. View the map here.
Weather Stations
We have two weather stations that are in various stages of set-up
and abilities.
- Pequaming: This weather station is located at our Wildlife Building located in Pequaming, MI. Please click HERE to see real-time weather data.
- DIGS: This weather station is in the process of being set up at our own community garden, also known as DIGS, located in L’Anse, MI. A link to view the
real-time data will be found here once the station is connected to the internet.
